Title contenders Nant Conwy returned to winning ways in Division One North thanks to a convincing 42-6 triumph at Bala.
Nant, who suffered back to back defeats, looked more like themselves as they put Bala to the sword, running in seven tries through Sion Jones, Eryl Jones, Owain Jones, James Jones, Andre Channer Hughes and a Carwyn ap Myrddin brace, with the latter also adding two conversions and a penalty.
Leaders Caernarfon were made to work for their home win over Bro Ffestiniog with the hosts narrowly edging it 20-18.
The pacemakers outscored their rival three tries to two thanks to touchdowns from Dylan Parry, Rhys Evans and Lance Owen, while Kelvin Morris added a conversion and a penalty as they held out for their thirteenth triumph.
Meanwhile, at the other end of the table, Llangefni came out on top 20-14 at home against rivals Mold.
Llangefni got off to a great start when Mar Pritchard caught the Mold players napping to touchdown for an early lead.
The visitors regrouped and looked dangerous with centre Cai Edwards, readily splitting the opposition defence to make substantial inroads into Llangefni territory, but the final pass was missing.
Mold steadily improved as the half wore on and their territory and possession advantage eventually paid dividends when Richard Hopkins sliced through the home defence to score under the posts to bring the score, following the conversion, to 5-7 to the visitors.
However, once again a lapse in concentration from Mold cost them dearly with William Owen crossing for Llangefni just before the half time to lead 12-7.
The hosts were quickest out of the blocks in the second half and piled on the pressure but it was once again the home side that were more clinical allowing Owen to squeeze over in the corner for his brace, with Carwyn Milburn adding the extras.
Mold surged back and after more promising high intensity phases, were awarded a scrum 5m short of the Llangefni line. From the resulting passage of attack, flanker Alex Green dummied his opposite number to squeeze over the line within a kickable angle for Steve Quinton to slot over to bring the score back to 17-14.
As the half wore on, Llangefni pressured but Milburn were only able to find the target with one penalty in blustery conditions to lead 20-14. However, despite a seemingly rampant Mold, that final push came to nothing in the dying minutes of the game with Llangefni bagging their sixth win.
Elsehwere, Pwllheli thumped basement boys Llandudno 56-3 and Bethesda defeated Ruthin 15-10.
