Mold clash with Ruthin for third time this season

For the third time this season, Mold play local rivals Ruthin this weekend with Mold having triumphed on both previous occasions.
However, Mold are not taking anything for granted this week, particularly off the back of a loss against bottom of the table Llandudno last weekend.
Reflecting on the New Year, Mold’s head coach Les Byrne was optimistically cautious “You just can’t take anything for granted this season. We may be towards the bottom of the table at the moment but the season still has a long way to go with many difficult teams having to come to Mold for their return fixtures”.
This fixture is probably going to be made all the more difficult given that this is the third encounter between the two sides and Byrne remains weary of the visitors, “the fact we have played one another twice relatively recently means that we both know what to expect and typical of a local derby, and a lapse in concentration may prove to be fatal in what will undoubtedly be a tightly contested match.”
Mold are battling the drop following a run of poor results but Coach Byrne remains resolute, “our challenge is quite clear to me, we enhance the legacy that Mold have and we take our game progressively to where we want and need to be. I still firmly believe that this is all still achievable with the types of players we have available and the types of young players coming through, but it won’t happen overnight. If we set our goals strongly and we live by our own expectations then the results will come – this week will hopefully be one such occasion".
Ruthin themselves come into the match on a high following their victory against Llangefni last weekend.
