Laura's weekend predictions

Ammanford v Tondu
The Waterwheelers comprehensively defeated Ammanford when the newcomers clashed earlier in the season but I expect a closer contest this time. Tondu have really grown as a side this year, proving their worth when they defeated former pacemakes Llangennech last week, but they have yet to record an away victory so far. Ammanford after their fantastic start have slipped and will be eager to level things up with the side they beat to the Two West title last year.
Verdict- Ammanford by 3 points
Bonymaen v Waunarlwydd
There are always fireworks in this local derby and with both sides near the bottom, there will be an added edge to this clash. Bony prop up the table but did pick up one of their four wins against Waunarlwydd earlier in the season. The Green and Blacks meanwhile comfortably defeated Ammanford last week, and so should be in a confident mood when they make the short trip across Swansea.
Verdict- Waunarlwydd by 6 points
Bridgend Athletic v UWIC
Athletic suffered a heavy defeat at Narberth last week and come in to the match on the back of a five game losing streak. However, their home performances have been marginally better than their away form. The students, who did set the pace in the Division for awhile, thumped Bridgend when they visited Cyncoed earlier in the campaign and will be hoping for a similar result as they look to close the gap on the leaders.
Verdict- UWIC by 10 points
Carmarthen Athletic v Narberth
My pick for the match of the day: the West Wales derby. The opening encounter between these two was a highly entertaining match with the Otters narrowly securing victory, 40-38, and I expect another high scoring encounter at Johnstown. Athletic will be determined to bounce back from their narrow loss at Tata Steel last week, while leaders Narberth are brimming with confidence after winning their last six matches.
Verdict- Carmarthen Athletic by 2 points
Llangennech v Tata Steel
The Saints will feel this match is crucial to their title aspirations. A loss here could see them slip ten points behind Narberth and with only seven games left, the margins for error are shrinking week by week. Llangennech meanwhile have lost their last two on the bounce and will demand a better performance from themselves for the clash.
Verdict-Tata Steel by 4 points
Whitland v Llanharan
The Borderers narrowly triumphed when these sides met earlier in the season and they will no all about the threat posed by the big Llanharan pack. If they were to get sucked in to a war of attrition on a heavy pitch against the Dairymen, there would be only one winner. If Whitland are to make a late surge for the title they must win this match, but as my coach used to say, the forwards decide who wins the match, the backs by how much.
Verdict- Whitland by 3 points
