Laura's weekend predictions

Carmarthen Athletic v Bridgend Athletic
Carmarthen have lost both their matches since the Christmas break but have had to face the top two sides in the Division. I think the hosts will really target this game and want a try bonus win given Bridgend’s poor form so far. However, the visitors did manage to hold UWIC to a low scoring draw last week and they did defeat Carmarthen comfortably in the reverse, but you have to go all the way back to October to find their last victory.
Verdict-Carmarthe Athletic by 15 points
Llanaharan v UWIC
This match will see a clash in styles with the Dairymen eager for the forwards to dictate proceedings, while the Students like to play an expansive game style. Llanharan will no doubt be happier with their performance last weekend even though they lost at Whitland, whereas UWIC were held to a 3-3 draw by struggling Bridgend Athletic.
Verdict- Llanharan by 6 points
Narberth v Llangennech
The Otters have been in fine form running in tries for fun, whereas after their great start, Llangennech have dropped off the pace and I can’t see them picking up their first win of the New Year here.
Verdict-Narberth by 10 points
Tata Steel v Ammanford
The Saints will be in no mood to slip up against the newcomers. With leaders Narberth in touching distance, the Port Talbot based side will want to win and win well. Ammanford narrowly lost out to Tondu last week and I don’t think they will have the fire power to derail Tata Steel’s title challenge.
Verdict-Tata Steel by 12 points
Tondu v Bonymaen
A tight battle at the wrong end of the table, each side will want to build on their victories last weekend.  The Waterwheelers convincingly defeated Bony in the reverse and will be keen for a repeat performance and, with home advantage, I think the hosts will be too strong.
Verdict- Tondu by 8 points
Waunarlwydd v Whitland
Waun have had a mixed bag to the start of the New Year, thumping Ammanford but narrowly losing out to local rivals Bonymaen, with influential outside half Jonny Davies facing a late fitness test on an injured knee. The Borderers on the other hand are still in the title race and will be targeting a try bonus win.
Verdict-Whitland by 14 points.
