THERE could be new leaders at the top of the Welsh League third division by tomorrow evening with Undy Athletic poised to depose Pontypridd Town.
The Gwent outfit picked up their most satisfying three points of the season to date last Saturday when they went to Ynysangharad Park in Pontypridd and came away with a 2-1 victory.
That cut the gap between the sides to just a single point and Undy know that if they beat Llwydcoed at home this weekend a slip-up by Pontypridd will see them move to the summit.
On paper, Pontypridd should hold on to top spot for at least one more week as they travel to Pontyclun, who have only picked up six points all season and lie one off last place.
Bridgend Street, who have games in hand over both of the top two, host UWIC in Cardiff. The visitors are buoyant following their unexpected 7-0 thrashing of first division Ton Pentre in the League Cup quarters last Saturday.
Their reward is a semi-final against Taffs Well while, Abertillery Bluebirds, who welcome Llanwern to the Recreation Ground tomorrow, play Cambrian & Clydach in the last four after they saw off Bryntirion Athletic on penalties.
Basement club Treowen Stars, with just one league triumph this season, play Newport Civil Service while Briton Ferry meet Cardiff Grange Harlequins and Goytre go to Tredegar Town.
