CONWY A remain on course to retain their Caernarfonshire & District Bayonet Winter League crown after just one defeat in six first division matches.
With 24.5 points from half-a-dozen games they are odds on to win back-to-back league titles, confirming the prospect of that happening with a 5-0 thrashing of Porthmadog A last time out.
That put them 10 points clear of Holyhead, who took over second place from Conwy B with a 4.5-0.5 success against St. Deiniol.
A 4-1 defeat to Penmaenmawr, who inflicted Conwy A’s only loss of the league, saw Conwy B slip to fourth with the former moving up to third.
Two of the Conwy A team head the standings in the division one Order of Merit, Lee Jones having won all six of his matches and Ross Davies five from six.
A draw at Caernarfon saw Nefyn go to the top of division two with 14 points from five encounters, one ahead of North Wales, 4.5-0.5 winners against previous leaders Royal St. David’s
They fall to third, Bull Bay are fourth with Caernarfon half-a-point back as four points separate all five teams in the table.
Nefyn’s Alwyn Thomas, who has dominated the individual competition, leads the Order of Merit with eight points and four wins from five. Lee Ainslow of Royal St. David’s is a point adrift.
Division three is headed by Henllys on 15 points, four clear of Abersoch with Porthmadog B in third following their 4-1 triumph over Dolgellau.
Henllys trio, brothers Adam and Dean Warriner and Darren Owen, Abersoch’s Paul Ainsworth and Porthmadog B’s Tony Williams all have six points in the third division Order of Merit.
In club competitions, Kevin Wild won the Captain’s Drive-In at Henllys with 42 points while June Goodinson scored 36 points to take the January Stableford at Bull Bay.
David Williams and Peter Townsend won the Texas Scramble at Prestatyn ahead of Colin Bevan and Mike Thomas and Trevor Lamont’s net 62 was good enough to clinch week 13 of the Denbigh Winter League.
Nigel Young and Kim Harcombe won the men’s and women’s Captain’s Drive-in at Clays with 39 and 33 points respectively.
