PROLIFIC Cambrian & Clydach marksman Jason Bertorelli took his league tally to 21 for the season with all four of his side’s goals in their 4-0 thrashing of Bryntirion Athletic.
In doing so, Bertorelli insured the Rhondda outfit remain unbeaten and top of Welsh League division one, three points clear of Cwmbran Celtic, who won 2-1 at West End last Saturday.
An Alex Chrysanthou penalty put the Swansea club ahead inside 10 minutes but the hosts’ cause was hit when left-back Rory Smitham was sent off on the half hour.
That gave the visitors the lift they needed and Owen Llewellyn equalised after the break before West End’s Sam Roden put through his own net to give Cwmbran the win.
Third-placed AFC Porth were seconds away from beating Pontardawe Town but had to settle for a point when Scott McCoubrey snatched a 94th-minute equaliser at Dinas Park.
Scott Young’s men seemed to be heading for victory when they led 2-0 thanks to goals from Jarrod Wright and Robbie Thomas. But Pontardawe had other ideas and McCoubrey grabbed the first of his brace in the last quarter before levelling at the death.
Taffs Well took advantage of Bridgend Town’s shock 2-0 home defeat by bottom club Caerau (Ely) on Friday night to move level on points with Craig Lima’s charges.
Strikes from Liam Williams, Nathan White and Tyrone Topper gave them a 3-1 triumph at home against mid-table rivals Haverfordwest County, a result which lifts Taffs Well up to seventh.
Meanwhile, the matches at Aberaman and Cwmaman were postponed because of frozen pitches.
