ABERAVON’S record-breaking outside-half Jamie Davies is the Principality Premiership Player of the Month for December.
The 33-year-old, the top points scorer in Welsh League history, notched 162 of them last month as the Wizards maintained their push for top spot.
The former Wales under-18 cap from Neath was nominated by Premiership coaches, members of the Welsh media and WRU elite performance staff and was presented with the award by Port Talbot Principality Building Society branch manager Lisa Perrie.
“I have had a good run of games and the points have been adding up which is obviously pleasing,” said Davies. “It’s nice being one of the senior players and getting this kind of recognition.
“We’re fourth in the table at the moment but looking to make up some points in the next few games to creep up further.”
Aberavon team manager Stephen Jones believes the recognition the fly-half is receiving is fully deserved, adding: “Jamie is a huge asset to the Aberavon team. He is consistent and that is reflected in his points record.
“I’m delighted that Jamie has been award the Principality Premiership Player of the Month for December.”
