Laura's weekend predictions

Blackwood v Rumney
Balckwood ended their six match losing streak last week and should take a lot of confidence from that performance. Having also defeated Rumney in the reverse fixture, and coupled with home advantage, the hosts should have the edge. Having said that, Rumney are more than capable of coming away with a victory.
Verdict- Blackwood by 5 points
Gilfcah Goch v Bargoed
With leaders Ebbw Vale’s match at Tredegar postponed, Bargoed will see this as a big chance to go top and increase the pressure on the Steelmen. Gowch on the other hand go into the match off the back of two straight defeats, and how the team responds will be crucial, as if Bargoed get on top early, doubts may creep into the hosts' game.
Verdict-Bargoed by 6 points
Merthyr v Glamorgan Wanderers
Another close match to call. Wanderers have definitely improved moving into the second half of the season and will see this match as one they can certainly get a result from. The Ironmen have suffered two losses since Christmas and will be eager to get their first win of the New Year.
Verdict – Glamorgan Wanderers by 6 points
Newbridge v Mountain Ash
Newbridge have recovered from their drop in form before Christmas and I can’t see them slipping up at home against Mountain Ash. The Old Firm are still establishing themselves at this level and will want to put in a big performance, but I just see the hosts having too much for the newcomers.
Verdict-Newbridge by 10 points
Treorchy v Beddau
The Zebras will be looking for a big response after being on the wrong end of a drubbing at the hands of Ebbw Vale last week and will take confidence from their win in the reverse fixture earlier in the season. Beddau meanwhile will go into the match on a high after defeating local rivals Gilfach Goch and will be eager to gather some momentum.
Verdict-Treorchy by 3 points.
