Laura's weekend predictions

Bargoed v Beddau
Bargoed must surely start as favourites, with the highfliers entering the match on the back of four straight victories as they look to keep the pressure on Ebbw Vale at the summit, but with the long Christmas break, some rustiness may play a part. Beddau also produced some good performances before the break and bagged a losing bonus point when the sides met back in September.
Verdict- Bargoed by 8 points
Blackwood v Glamorgan Wanderers
Neither of these sides have been in league action since November 19th, with the Wanderers picking up an impressive victory against Newbridge. Blackwood will have home advantage and will be eager to gain revenge on Wanderers who bagged one of their three wins in the reverse .
Verdict- Glamorgan Wanderers by 5 points
Gilfach Goch v Ebbw Vale
In the match of the day, trailblazers Ebbw Vale travel to a strong Gilfach Goch outfit in what will surely be a very tough contest, and Gowch have come a long way since their heavy defeat to the Steelmen back in September. However, I feel the visitors will just edge it.
Verdict- Ebbw Vale by 6 points
Newbridge v Merthyr
Newbridge’s form slipped in the lead up to the Christmas break and will be determined to start 2012 in the right way. Merthyr have produced some good performances this season but were heavily beaten in the reverse.
Verdict- Newbridge by 8 points
Tredegar v Rumney
Newcomers Tredegar finally got the monkey off their back when they registered their first win, but were then hampered by postponements when they really needed to build some momentum and were comfortably beaten by Merthyr before the break. Rumney have had a mixed bag of a season but have a strong pack - this match could go either way.
Verdict- Rumney by 3 points
Treorchy v Mountain Ash
The Zebras moved into the top five before the break with some fine performances, whereas new boys Mountain Ash are still finding their feet at this higher level.
Verdict- Treorchy by 7 points
