Seagulls require revamp to avoid relegation

Colwyn Bay FC face a race against time to raise the £71,500 required to revamp their Llanelian Road ground to meet the new Conference league regulations.
The Seagulls have been dealt the shocking news that the club must build a stand fit for Conference football or lose their place in the Blue Square Bet North.
The three rows of seating are now deemed unacceptable for Conference level football and the Llanelian Road ground must undergo a massive revamp.
The Seagulls face an uphill task of raising the funds to get the renovation underway in time for the March 31st deadline the league has imposed.
Plans have already been drawn up for a new cantilever stand on the Triac terracing to house 500 seats, as well as covered standing areas. Chairman Bob Paton looks likely to be able to source funding for 30-40,000 of the project but the club will still need to raise well in excess of 30k themselves.
What’s the plan?
  • Fans are setting up a Supporters Association to help organise fund raising events.
  • The club have put up 13,000 £1 shares on sale.
  • Commercial Manager Carol Beard has been appointed social club manager in a bid to attract  people’s  use of the club’s social room for private functions.

With the football club’s off field financial problems, it is crucial that Dave Chanillor and his team remain focused on consolidating their position in the league, where the new boys currently sit at a respectable 10th.
