Ystrad prove too strong for Fleur

Pacesetters Ystrad Rhondda maintained their unbeaten start to Division Two East with a convincing 46-10 demolition of Fleur de Lys at Gelligalad.
Ystrad crossed the visitors’ lines seven times including braces from Alex Webber and Andrew Hutchins, with Dai Fratton, Sam Hodder and Carl Facey also going over. Webber also contributed eleven points with the boot through four conversions and a penalty.
Fleur de Lys bagged all of their points in the first half through a Gareth Pearce touchdown, with Lee Humphries adding the conversion and a penalty.
Ynysybwl kept up their pursuit of Ystrad at the top, edging out Penallta 12-11 at Ystrad Fawr.
Greg Rhys was the hero of the day for Bwl, landing four penalties to continue their excellent early form.
Meanwhile, Rhydyfelin ran in eleven tries as they demolished Abercynon 71-0 and Tylorstown notched up their third win, crossing for five tries in a 35-3 victory over struggling Llantwit Fadre.
In the other matches, there was little to choose between the sides as Bedlinog secured a home triumph 25-24 over Heol y Cyw and Llantrisant defeated Rhymney 14-6.
