Bargoed believing in better

Bargoed, who have had a great start to their One East campaign after a solid season last year, will look to enter the newly formed Championship as Division One East title holders.
“We were very pleased to be included in the Championship. It will be a big challenge and a good stepping stone for the development of the club,” said Secretary Robert Butcher. “We are really keen to develop the club right from the grassroots at under eight level, all the way up to the senior set-up. Our youth set-up has paid dividends this year with a considerable number of players coming through into the senior squad. This year, with the youth in our side coupled with experienced players like Mike Roberts, we feel we have a good chance of doing very well.”
Bargoed have also added some experience to the ranks this year with ex Captain Anthony Lott returning from Neath and local lad James Pizey joining from Bedwas.
