Last year’s Division One East runners-up Newbridge have started their
new campaign in formidable form, notching up five wins.
“We’ve kept the majority of our squad. Obviously we lost a few who
wanted to ply their trade at the higher level of the Premiership but we
have brought in some very good young players such as outside half Bevan
Howells, who is improving every match and bagged 22 points for us last
week,” said Club Official Andrew Oliver. “We also brought in some
experience in the form of Cross Keys second row Mark Curtis and Keith
Loughlin from Blaydon in Newcastle. We are also looking forward to the
National Championship Division next year and we hope it will give us a
platform to develop our young players and also as a club. It’s
definitely an exciting time at Newbridge.”
