Thrilling display sees Students go top of the class

UWIC leapt to the top of Division One West with a thrilling 37-31 victory at Waunarlwydd, with both sides running in four tries.
The students were cruising at the interval leading 24-0, but let the hosts back into the match. The visitors’ tries came courtesy of Dan Bibby, Tony James, Rhodri Davies and Sam Cross, with Rhydian Morris notching up 17 points with the boot through three penalties and four conversions.
The Green and Blacks, who have now lost their last three matches, did manage to salvage both losing and try bonus points from the match thanks to a spirited second half performance. The hosts touched down through a Daniel Fox brace, and tries apiece for Daniel Moyle and Steffan Jones, with outside half Jonny Davies slotting four conversions and one penalty.
Narberth helped themselves to seven tries in a 43-7 demolition of new boys Ammanford at the Lewis Lloyd Ground.
The Otters’ star man was centre Steve Martin, who bagged a hat-trick of scores with flanker Gareth Bateman, outside half Aled Davies, wing Nick Jones and Jonathan Morgan also going over. Jones added the extras to four.
Ammanford, who have had great start to life in the higher league, have faltered recently losing their last three matches.
In-form Whitland lost their position as leaders despite notching up their fifth win at new boys Tondu, with the Borderers running out 27-21 victors at Pandy Park.
The highfliers crossed for two first half touchdowns through Dafydd Williams and Lee Granville. Williams added a conversion and two penalties, with replacement Jonathan Thomas also slotting three penalties.
The Waterwheelers were restricted to two tries from Matthew Davies and Paul Smithson with Dennis Thomas landing three penalties and a conversion to bag a losing bonus point. 
Llanharan bagged their second win with a 22-10 home success over Bridgend Athletic.
The Dairymen dominated territory throughout and crossed for three tries, prop Sam Pick bashed his way to a first half brace, with full back Luke James adding another after the break. Chris Williams rounded off a convincing win, slotting two conversions and a penalty.
Athletic, who have suffered on the road so far, recorded all of their points before the break through a try by scrum-half Aled Thomas, with Craig Butler adding the extras and also landing a penalty.
Meanwhile, Bonymaen slipped to bottom of the league losing 26-16 to Tata Steel at Parc Mawr.
The Steelmen outscored Bony three tries to one through Robbie Morgan, Paul Crocker and a penalty try.  The hosts only try came courtesy of Nathan Brooks with Tom Warlow slotting a conversion and three penalties.
Elsewhere, Llangennech continued their impressive form, grinding out a 18-9 victory at local rivals Carmarthen Athletic.
