Newbridge extended their lead at the top of Division One East, grinding out a 9-6 home victory over defending Champions Ebbw Vale to retain their 100 percent record in the league.
There was little to choose between the two sides in an edgy and physical affair dominated by the boot. The hosts slotted two penalties through Beverly Howells, with the hero of the day, Dan Phillips, landing a second half drop goal to bag the win.
The Steelmen in reply were restricted to a penalty and drop goal from Dorian Jones.
Bargoed fell further behind the trailblazers, going down 21-17 at Treorchy despite outscoring the hosts three tries to nil.
The Zebras owe their victory to Celyn Ashton, who slotted seven penalties as they capitalised on the Bargoed indiscipline.
The highfliers meanwhile have to be content with a losing bonus, thanks to touchdowns from Matthew Hutchins, Lee Pearson and John Purcell, with Matthew Hurley only able to convert one.
Merthyr picked up their fourth win in a hard-fought local derby, running out 27-21 victors over Rumney.
The Ironmen ran in three tries through left wing Aaran Howard, James Howe and Daniel Butler, but the difference between the sides proved to be the boot of Neil Burnett, who landed two penalties and converted all three tries.
The visitors in reply did manage to bag a losing bonus point thanks to a penalty try, a Gareth Stoppani touchdown and Danny Clarke also crossing the whitewash, with the latter slotting all three conversions.

Meanwhile, the match between Gilfach Goch and Glamorgan Wanderers was abandoned after 64 minutes due to a serious injury to a Wanderers player. With Gilfach leading 15-12, they could have bagged the result, but very sportingly agreed to rearrange the fixture.
Blackwood bagged their fifth win with a comfortable 25-7 try bonus victory over Mountain Ash at Glan Yr Afon.
The hosts were on top as early as the first minute as David Ford burst over the whitewash, they crossed for three more scores through Adam Jones, Anthony John and Nathan Gittens. Gareth Price converted one and landed a penalty.
Elsewhere, Beddau heaped more woe on newly promoted Tredegar, picking up a try bonus 32-7 win at the Recreation Ground.
The visitors crossed for five tries through Ben Cummings, Mark Addis, Scott Britton, Steve Robinson and Graham Hart. Robinson also landed a penalty and two conversions.
Tredegar, who have yet to pick up a win so far, could only manage a Matthew McGovern touchdown with Scott Amber bagging the extras.
