Glynneath winning machine looking to steamroll Skewen

The Glynneath winning machine rolls into Skewen on Saturday with the new boys looking to retain their pristine start to Division Two West.
“It was a massive win for us against Cwmllynfell last week. We were both unbeaten going into the match and it was nice to emerge with a victory. We controlled the game well and despite squandering chances, we picked up a try bonus late in the match,” said Press Officer Brian Morgan. “Looking ahead to this weekend, Skewen are a tough side. It’s a local derby and the matches in the past have always been close but obviously the way we are playing, we are confident of getting a result. Having said that, with local derbies form sometimes goes out of the window.”
Skewen, however, will look to spring a surprise and use their home advantage to pick up a shock win.
“We were very disappointed last weekend when Maesteg called off the match, as we were hoping to build momentum going into the fixture against Glynneath, but obviously you’ve got to move on and focus on the game at hand,” said Coach Richard Ball. “Glynneath are flying this year so it’s definitely going to be a tough match, but we have a strong squad to select from so hopefully we can get a result.”
Loughor will be hoping to build on their bonus point win over Crymych last weekend when they travel to Felinfoel on Saturday.
“We don’t know much about Felinfoel. We haven’t played them for quite a while but all matches away in this league are difficult and we are expecting another tough match on Saturday,” said Club Official Kevin Lewis. “Felinfoel as the home side have to start as favourites but we’re going to go there and give it our best shot and bag a win.”
Meanwhile, Cwmllynfell face another stern test when they entertain undefeated new boys Kenfig Hill. Cwm will undoubtedly be keen to bounce back from their first loss at the hands of Glynneath last weekend.
Elsewhere, Builth Wells host Kidwelly, Aberystwyth travel to fellow strugglers Crymych and Maesteg welcome Aberavon Quins.
