The Starch close gap at top

In a top of the table clash, Gowerton inflicted leaders Tycroes’ first defeat of the season with a 13-8 home triumph.

The Starch ran in two tries in a tightly-contested match, through Morgan Hedges and Julian Williams, while Aran James landed a penalty.

The trailblazers could only manage a Richie Williams touchdown and a Dean Bronham penalty.
Penlan notched up their fourth win with a try bonus 35-14 victory at Llandybie.

The Swansea side helped themselves to five tries, including a brace for Ian Scrine with Jason Garmey, Bob Scrine and Rob Watkins also going over. Outside-half Scott Davies added the extras to all five.

Meanwhile, Baglan remain rooted to the bottom of the table after suffering their fifth loss of the season, going down at home 33-17 to Alltwen.

The visitors crossed for four tries through Andrew Roberts, Rhodri James, and a brace by Benjamin Howells, while Roberts also landed two conversion and three penalties.

The hosts in reply could only manage two tries through Rhys Davies and Daniel Bleddyn, with the latter converting both and slotting a penalty.

Elsewhere, Cwmgors bagged their fifth win in a low-scoring encounter at Cwmtwrch, edging proceedings 13-6.

The Cherries crossed for two tries through Rhodri Danter and Steve Edwards, with Matthew Jones completing the score line with a penalty. 

Finally, Ystradgynlais notched up their third win, defeating Crynant 18-0, and the match between Glais and New Dock Stars was abandoned after injury.
