With Wales waiting 19 years to see just one of its clubs
reach the final, two made it at the same time to battle it out for the prize in
Antequera, Spain.
St Pierre had triumphed in all three of their pool matches,
with both clubs overcoming teams from England, Ireland and Scotland to reach
the final.
With the score tied at 3-3, the organisers and the referee decided the title would be shared.

The Vale Resort team, captained by Callum Yorston (17) from
Hensol, and made up of Delon Hau (18) from Tonyrefail, Ryan Thomas (18) from
Cardiff, Tim Harry (15) from Dinas Powys, Harrie Llewellyn (15) from
Whitchurch, Mathew Rees (15) from Bridgend, Ollie Lloyd (17) from Miskin, and
Ollie Brown (14) from Peterson-super-Ely, came through a tense week of golf
played in poor weather conditions.
Clive Coombs, the Vale Resort’s golf operations manager,
said: “Yet again, the junior team have done themselves and the Vale Resort
proud. They played some brilliant golf and conducted themselves like true
sportsmen and women throughout the competition.”
Team captain Callum Yorston added: “I was honoured to be
captain of such an inspiring team who gave their all in difficult conditions.
Bringing the trophy home to Wales makes this one of the best weeks of our
lives.”
The team is made up of players who have come through the
Vale Resort’s Junior Golfing Academy, which has produced young golfing stars
such as the European Amateur Championship Cup winner, Rhys Pugh.
