Ystrad Rhondda extend lead at the summit



Ystrad Rhondda extended their lead to three points at the top of Division Two East with an emphatic try bonus 52-17 home win over Abercynon.
The pacemakers were once again inspired by the devastating Alex Webber, who touched down four times and added seven conversions for a 34 point haul, while the ever impressive David Grattan and Bleddyn Davies also bagged braces.
Penallta meanwhile remain hot on their heels with the Pitmen picking up a crucial 21-14 victory over fellow high fliers Rhydyfelin.

The Pitmen crossed twice through Gavin Jones and Chris Thomas, while Andre Soroko fired home three penalties and a conversion.
Meanwhile, Llantrisant picked up their eleventh win of the season with a 34-6 victory at Tylorstown.
The visitors were inspired to victory by young outside half Lewys Montague with the youth team player making one of his first starts at senior level, notching up 24 points, while Matthew Griffiths bagged a brace.
Bedlinog inflicted Fleur de Lys’s fourteenth defeat of the season with a 38-18 home win.
The Foxes crossed for four tries through Leigh Bennet, Liam Jenkins, David Rees and Martin Luckwell, while Ben Grzseica amassed 18 points with the boot.
Elsewhere, Ynysybwl heaped more woe on basement boys Rhymney with a 30-16 win, and Heol y Cyw remain in the hunt for promotion with a determined 23-20 triumph at Llantwit Fadre.
