Saints in seven heaven

Tata Steel chipped their way closer to Narberth at the top of Division One West with an emphatic 45-11 home victory over Llanharan.
The Saints were never troubled by the visitors crossing for seven tries including braces for Simon Evans, speedster Gbemi Fisher and fly half Cameron Clement, with Cameron Davies also touching down. The impressive Clement added the extras to five to give him a personal haul of 20 points.
The Dairymen, who had put Tondu to the sword last week, could only manage a solitary try from Luke Probert and two penalties from Chris Williams.
The win sees Tata Steel narrow the gap on Narberth to four points with the Port Talbot side also having a game in hand and could go top when they host UWIC on Wednesday night.
Leaders Narberth meanwhile had too much for the visiting UWIC in bagging a 22-15 victory, but failed to seal a try bonus point.
The Otters crossed for three tries through Matthew Davies, Tom Slater and Nick Jones, while outside half Stuart Morris converted two of these and landed a penalty.
The Students came away with a losing bonus point thanks to touchdowns from Jon Campbell and Andy Berry, while Mark Cooke added a conversion and a penalty.
Bridgend Athletic continued their incredible end of season form with an emphatic 44-7 triumph over Ammanford.
Athletic, who propped up the table for much of the season, looked a totally different outfit as they ran in five touchdowns through Matthew Hillman, James Olds, Rhys Jones, Lynsey Macausland and Jonathan Phillips, with the latter also having a fine day with the boot in slotting all five conversions and three penalties.
Ammanford were restricted to a second half try from back row Chris Jones with Carwyn Richards slotting the extras.
Meanwhile, Tondu moved off the bottom of the table with a hardfought 27-20 home win over Waunarlwydd.
The Waterwheelers produced a strong first half performance running in three tries through Darren Thomas, Matthew Davies and Steve Brown, with Paul Smithson converting all three and slotting two penalties.
Waun did come away with a consolation losing bonus point thanks to touchdowns from Ed Bennett and Morgan Haylock, as well as ten points from the boot of Johnny Davies.
Elsewhere, Llangennech moved up to fourth with a 31-28 victory over Bonymaen.
In a tightly contested affair, the Carmarthenshire side always looked to have the attacking edge as they outscored their rivals five tries to three. Liam Hutchins bagged a double with Rhys Phillips, Justin Hughes and Ryan Thomas also going over for the hosts, Gareth Walters added the extras to three.
Once again for Bony, it was a matter of so close yet so far as they slipped to their fourteenth loss of the season.
