Tata Steel crowned One West Champions

Tata Steel clinched the Division One West title with a stylish bonus point 36-26 triumph at Waunarlwydd.
With second placed Narberth snapping at their heels, the Saints knew they needed a bonus point win to seal the championship and did just that with a clinical performance.
The Saints crossed the whitewash five times, with prop Gareth Edwards having an impressive day in the loose bagging a double, while back row Rory Gallagher, centre Scott Robinson and a length of the field interception try from wing Jordan Skidmore ensured they won in style. Full back Cameron Clement fired home a penalty and four conversions to complete the scoreline, and Tata Steel will now go into the National Championship full of confidence.
Narberth, who looked odds on to wrap up the league a few weeks back when they defeated Tata, did all they could to take the title to the wire but at the end of the day, their bonus point 26-20 win at Llanharan wasn’t enough.
The Otters trailed at the interval but showed their pedigree to fight back with scrum half Adrian Killa grabbing a brace, while wing Tom Bonnell and full back Jonny Morgan also touched down. Outside half Stuart Morris added three conversions.
The Dairymen crossed twice through scrum half Ross Pritchard, while Chris Williams slotted two penalties and both conversions to claim a losing bonus point.
Meanwhile, Llangennech ended their league programme on a high with a 21-8 victory at local rivals Whitland.
The visitors' hero of the day was Liam Hutchings who ran in a hat-trick of tries, while Gareth Walters added the extras.
The Borderers could only manage a Nico Setaro touchdown and a Scott Newton penalty, but have guaranteed a fourth placed finish.
Carmarthen Athletic ensured a third placed finish with a comfortable 27-18 win at UWIC.
Athletic were always on top and crossed the whitewash twice through a Ricky Jones double, while full back Mike Sauro had his kicking boots on once again, firing home four penalties and a conversion, while scrum half Rhys Lane slotted a drop goal.
The students, who are staggering towards the end of the season, ran in two tries of their own from Owen Jenkins and Ryan Keats.
In a tightly contested derby, Tondu edged out Bridgend Athletic 19-18 at Newbridge Fields.
The Waterwheelers were lead to victory by outside half Paul Smithson, who notched up all of the visitors' points through a try, conversion and four penalties.
Elsewhere, Bonymaen ended their less than vintage season on a high with a 51-7 thumping of Ammanford.
Bony helped themselves to seven tries with Nathan Brooks and Richard Cunniffe bagging doubles, while Richard Williams, Richard Brooks and Staurt Allen also touched down.
Ammanford's solitary touchdown came through Wayne Price, while Carwyn Richards added the conversion. Last year's Two West champions finish the league bottom in what has been a tough season for the newcomers.
