Cwmllynfell cut Tondu’s
lead at the top of One West to 16 points after they recorded a 27-20 win over
Kidwelly, with the Swansea Valley side holding a three games in hand advantage
over the Waterwheelers.
Gareth
Drewson was at the double for Cwmllynfell with Dylan Loughar also going over.
Peter Thomas added 12 points with the boot.
The
Waterwheelers meanwhile will be anxiously looking over their shoulders, as they
could only draw 13-13 with Glynneath.
Kristian
Jenkins scored their only try, with Paul Smithson converting and adding two
penalties to complete their scoring. The hosts mirrored Tondu’s scoring
pattern, with Stuart Reach crossing for their try and Corey Jenkin kicking the
extras.
Third-placed
Waunarlwydd edged a close encounter, 39-38 at Llangennech, thanks to a last
minute kick from Lee Evans.
Both sides bagged
five tries with the Green and Blacks' coming courtesy of Josh Hammett, Steff
Jones, Nathan Hart, Gareth Richards and Jordan Clayfield, while Evans notched
up 14 points for the visitors to clinch the spoils.
Carmarthen Athletic
maintained their strong end-of-season form as they brushed aside Kenfig Hill
35-13.
Loughor helped their battle
for survival with a 24-21 home win over Ammanford. Steve Wake and Kyle Hill
both scored tries, with Andrew Williams converting one and kicking four
penalties.
Elsewhere,
bottom side Aberavon Quins continued their winless season by going down 55-5 at
Skewen. Left winger Mark Harvey grabbed four tries in a fruitful day, with
Chris Ryan and Steffan Bond also going over. Ryan Watkins grabbed the Quins’
only points with a try.
