Bedwas v Llanelli
Potentially, Bedwas could find themselves top of the league
come tomorrow evening and they are in great form at the moment so that’s not
out of the question.
Llanelli will start favourites for this one but, at home,
Bedwas fear nobody and a win for them wouldn’t be as much of a shock as it
might have been on other occasions.
Two sides in good shape should hopefully produce a great
game at Bridge Field and one the visitors might nick.
Verdict – Llanelli by
five points
Carmarthen Quins v Newport
Given their woeful start to the season, it would be a big
surprise if Newport get anything from their trip to West Wales.
Not only have they lost three of their four games but the Black
and Ambers have had two players sent off already and also picked up a couple of
yellow cards so their indiscipline is proving to be their Achilles heel right
now.
On the other hand, it’s worth pointing out too that the
Quins have only won once this term but could quite easily have won at least
three.
Verdict – Quins by
seven points
Cross Keys v Neath
It’s been a stuttering start for Neath and away from home
they’ll find it tough against a Keys side with three wins on the bounce.
Neath only just manage to scrape home against the Quins on
Wednesday night while Keys had no problems seeing off Swansea at St Helen’s.
Perhaps it demonstrates a bit of a power shift in Welsh club
rugby and that Neath are not the force they once were.
Verdict – Cross Keys
by 10 points
Llandovery v Swansea
If Swansea aren’t careful they could be in for a real hiding
at Church Bank with the form book indicating a comfortable win for the Drovers.
Llandovery are unbeaten while Swansea are still finding
their feet under Mefin Davies, making tomorrow’s encounter even tougher than it
normally would be.
Like Keys, Llandovery are a club on the up and should be bona
fide challengers for the title this season given the way they’ve started.
Verdict – Llandovery by 15 points
Pontypridd v Bridgend
Since snatching a win against Llanelli on the opening day,
Bridgend have failed to push on and were thrashed by Cardiff in midweek.
Pontypridd weren’t in action on Wednesday so they’ll be that
little bit more fresh and rarely lose in front of their own fans at Sardis
Road.
This is another game that could produce a one-sided result
with Bridgend really up against it.
Verdict – Pontypridd by
15 points
Cardiff v Aberavon (Sunday)
Before last Saturday’s home game with Newport, Cardiff were
really up against it having failed to produce the goods in their first two
matches.
But after that hammering of the Black and Ambers, the Arms
Park outfit brushed aside Bridgend four days later and are scoring plenty of
tries as well.
That suggests a convincing victory for the hosts on Sunday
although Wizards coach Simon King will have something to say about that.
Verdict – Cardiff by
12 points
