Newbridge resisted a stubborn Tata Steel side to maintain their 100% record in the Championship with a hard fought 18-13 victory.
Two tries from Ceri Young proved to be the difference as the talented fullback touched down in each half, while Neil Burnett slotted the extras to one as well as two penalties.
Tata Steel, who impressed with a strong set piece all afternoon, were awarded a penalty try late on from a collapsed scrum near the hosts' line, with Gareth Walters adding the conversion to two first half penalties to set up a grandstand finish.
With nearly ten minutes of injury time played, Tata pressed but couldn’t break down the resolute Newbridge defence.
Bargoed still head the table as they continue to run riot, crossing for seven tries in a 43-12 win over this week’s victims Bridgend Athletic.

Blackwood, who will feel the match could have gone either way, didn’t end the day empty handed bagging two bonus points, with David James (2), Mark Williams, Sean Emery and Gareth Price all going over for the hosts.
Meanwhile, Cardiff Met secured a tightly contested 25-22 success at Beddau thanks to a last minute touchdown as they fought back to record their third win of the season.
Llanharan continue to impress and heaped more woe on lowly Whitland with a 32-18 victory.
The Dairymen, who have had a solid start to the season, looked lively running in four tries through Tom Marley, Lewis Young, Cody Rees and Harley Thomson.
In Swansea, Bonymaen edged out Glamorgan Wanderers 16-13, with Ian Brooks' goalkicking proving vital for the hosts, however Wanderers fly half Ianto Griffiths did have a chance to clinch a draw, but his late long distance effort fell shy of the posts.
