South Wales Cricket Association division four
BAGLAN suffered the ignominy of having ‘extras’ as their top
scorer as they suffered at the hands of Cimla’s Arun Rengaswamy.
The spinner spun his side to their fifth victory of the
season in South Wales Cricket Association division four, taking eight wickets
as Baglan were bowled out for 76.
Table-toppers Cimla had already scored 178 batting first
with Chris Stevens contributing 49. But it was all one-way traffic after the
interval as spin king Rengaswamy steam-rollered through the hosts.
And, by the end, extras had added 34 to the paltry total,
summing up Baglan’s bad day at the office in a nutshell.
Meanwhile, Dyffryn went run crazy at home against Llandarcy,
posting 301-4, including a stand of 201 for the first wicket between Robert Stanton
(132) and Rhys Davies (66).
Replying, Paul Amphlett (5-40) made sure Llandarcy came up a
huge 227 short as they continue to struggle.
The only team below Llandarcy had an equally torrid time as
whipping boys Kidwelly Town were dismissed for a meagre 62 following Llantwit
Major Cavaliers’ 197-7.
Finally, in a low-scoring affair, Ystradgynlais restricted
Llandeilo to 125 but failed in their chase, falling 35 adrift with Antony James
taking 4-22.
The other division four match between Neath 3rds and
Felinfoel was abandoned without a ball being ball.
