Cimla reclaim top spot


Cimla reclaimed top spot in Division Four of the South Wales Cricket Association with an emphatic 73 run victory over Llantwit Major Cavaliers.
The Neath outfit smashed 240-3d in 45 overs, with Craig Kelling blasting a 90 and Anwar Mohammed finishing unbeaten on 61, while Neil Hornby notched up 41 and Chris Stepehens chipped in 33.
The Cavaliers in reply made a good stand posting 167 in damp conditions thanks to Jonathan Cheal (36), James Snelson (32) and Gareth Hughes (28), but they were unable to hang on to avoid defeat. Imran Prevez was the star with the ball, claiming 4-29 in eight overs.
Meanwhile, Ystradgynlais heaped more woe on basement boys Kidwelly with a 122 run thumping.
Martin Griffiths' unbeaten stand of 117 for Ystrad set them well on their way as they declared on 218-1, with Carwyn Williams also amongst the runs knocking a half century (64).
Kidwelly in reply were skittled for 97, with Emyr Lawrence claiming 4-18 as they slipped to their fifth loss.
Felinfoel comfortably defeated Llandelio by eight wickets.
Llandeilo were put in and made 183 thanks to a wonderful knock from John Davies (82), with Anthony James contributing 47. Jonathan Evans was the pick of the bowlers claiming 4-56, while Gareth Smith picked up 3-34.
Felinfoel easily chased down the runs required, with Andrew Thomas top scoring with 102, while Rhys Harris finished unbeaten on 81.
Elsewhere, Baglan saw off highfliers Dyffryn by five wickets, and Llandarcy defeated Neath 3rds by six wickets.
