The forward has notched 12 goals in 16 appearances so far
this season for the Division Two side, and joins Barry hoping to help fill the
void left by Christian Doidge’s move to Carmarthen Town.
Ely Rangers’ secretary Bob Fry says Barry have signed a
player who won’t let them down, but said the door is open should Cotterill ever
wish to return.
“We wish him luck and he’s always welcome back if it doesn’t
work out,” he said. “We never stand in a player’s way if they want to move up
the leagues and we always welcome that.
“He’s a young chap who is very skilful and scores lots of
goals. Barry have got themselves a good player.”
Cotterill has already impressed Barry supporters once this season with a stunning goal against them in their 3-1 win over Ely in the Welsh Cup third round as he curled the ball in from outside the area. He also struck the post from a similar position in the first half.
Barry manager Gavin Chesterfield commented: "I'm delighted to have brought Jordan into the squad. We have a young, creative and talented team and Jordan fits this mold well.
"I'm looking forward to seeing him link up with previous striking partner Tj Nagi and Ryan Jenkins."
Cotterill will go straight in to the Barry squad for tomorrow’s clash with fellow promotion hopefuls Monmouth Town.
