South Wales Scorpions are looking for coaching staff for their new ladies team who are already in training.
The new side had their first ever taster session earlier this week which was taken by existing Scorpions staff but they have said that they need their own independent coaches to move forward.
They are looking for a head coach, assistant coach, physiotherapist and team manager.
The positions are voluntary at this stage but would create a piece of history being involved with the first ever ladies’ Rugby League side in Wales.
Louise Tyson, the newly appointed player-chairperson of the female arm of the club, said: “We are really pleased with the support that we’ve already had for our new side and we are grateful for Steve Parry, Neil Dallimore, Dean Fouache and Dave Clark for all the coaching and advise that they have already given us.
“But we know that they are obviously heavily involved with the men’s side so we need our own independent staff. This is someone’s chance to create a piece of history and with the World Cup coming along next year, a Welsh side could be the next step.
“We will be training once a week and are applying to be in a league next year, but we have already had offers to play a friendly in October so we are aiming to be ready for then.”

In addition to Louise’s position as chair, the club have also appointed Rebecca Whiteley as secretary, Matthew Turner as finance manager and Ian Curzon as welfare officer.
