Carmarthen Quins bounced back from their comprehensive loss at Swansea last time out in emphatic fashion, stunning title contenders Neath at Carmarthen Park.
The star of the day for the hosts was undoubtedly wing Lee Williams who bagged a hat trick, with the boot of Aled Thomas notching up 18 points in an assured display by the fly half.
Quins got out of the blocks early, as Williams raced in for his first try of the afternoon in the fourth minute.
The Welsh All Blacks lived up to their title aspirations as they hit back to take the lead when speedster Jamie Davies’ touchdown was converted by Alec Jenkins.
The hosts regrouped and never looked back after Thomas fired home his first penalty of the afternoon on 15 minutes.
The 850 strong home support were once again on their feet as Williams crossed for his second, with Thomas duly adding the extras to take an 18-7 lead.

Neath looked dangerous with the ball with Nathan Brew always a threat in midfield, but it was try machine Kevin James that reduced the deficit for the visitors, striking on 32 minutes.
However, it was the Quins that would have the final say before the interval as Alex Pickersgill touched down five minutes before the break, Thomas once again adding the extras to give his side a 25-12 advantage.
Neath, pressing for a way back into the match, led to their own downfall as Williams intercepted a sloppy pass from the visitors to race to the line and score in the corner, to give him his hat trick for the day and the all important bonus point.
The visitors continued to push to find a way back into the match but the Carmarthen defence stood resolute.
David Evans did get a try back for the visitors late on but it was a case of too little too late, and Thomas capped off his afternoon in style, firing home his fourth penalty deep into injury time to give the Quins a deserved 38-19 triumph.
