Welsh Varsity-Let them Play!

Three Welsh Varsity teams were left devastated on Monday when Cardiff Council deemed the Pontcanna fields unplayable to host the Freshers rugby, womens rugby and American football matches.
Like all good athletic unions unwilling to let their sports teams down, Swansea Athletic Union offered their services of a rugby pitch on Sketty Lane that is playable and could accommodate two of the matches. With the arrangements made and players all geared again to put their weeks of preparation to the test, another sinister twist arose.
The Cardiff Union President, Ollie Devon, stated multiple times on twitter that Swansea had no playable pitches and that he was as gutted as everyone that neither the freshers or womens rugby matches were able to go ahead. See below

Has there just been crossed wires between the AU’s or were the pitches really unplayable??
When speaking to the Swansea Athletic Union President, Dan Ryan Lowes he confirmed to me that the Sketty Lane pitches are in fact playable.
However, when I tried to contact the Cardiff Supremo Mr Devon he was unavailable to comment. But I don’t really think that's acceptable, and I feel that both the Freshers' and Women’s Rugby sides, who have each put in countless hours and have represented the two respective universities all year with distinction, deserve answers - don’t you think, Mr Devon?
