New boys find their feet

Newcomers Llandysul recovered from their losing draw at Aberdare last week to bag a huge 231 run victory over Briton Ferry Steel in Division Two of the South Wales Cricket Association.
Llandysul put into bat and knocked an incredible 273-3 on a damp wicket, with opener Mark Wilson hitting an unbeaten century (107) including 56 in boundaries, while Gary Williams fell just short of his century, hitting a quick fire 92 off just 94 balls.
The visitors in reply were shell shocked, and were consequently skittled out for just 42, Robert Frankland (21) proving to be the only resistance. Llandysul needed just 21 overs to take the wickets using just two in attack, with Rhodri Jones taking 5-17 and Adrian Davies capturing 5-14 in this one sided contest.
Bronwydd also picked up a big victory defeating Morriston by 100 runs.
The Carmarthenshire side set a total of 169-8, Steffan Jones striking a solid 41 with George Gleeson chipping in with 31. Ashley Field 3-40 and Stuart Johnson 4-22 were the pick of the bowlers for the visitors.
Morriston were skittled for just 69 in response with Field collecting 41 of his side's runs to round off a great all round performance, while Nick Hogben 6-33 and Gihan Fernando 4-14 were both in scintillating form with the ball.
Meanwhile, Cowbridge picked up their first win of their campaign thanks to a comfortable eight wicket home victory over Llanelli.
The visitors batted first and knocked a respectable 142 including a half century from Iwan Rees (69), while Tom Warner was in fine form with the ball, collecting 5-32.
Cowbridge reached their goal for the loss of just two wickets with captain Tom Merilaht the pick with the bat, knocking an unbeaten half century.
Elsewhere, Gorseinon bagged a 57 run win at Skewen. The visitors were all out for 104, depsite the best efforts of youngster Aneurin Donald who carded 57, but Skewen had no answer in return and could only muster a measly 49.
Finally, Carmarthen Wanderers defeated Aberdare by seven wickets.
