Newbridge end campaign on a high

Newbridge ended another successful term in Division One East with a 36-17 victory over Treorchy at the Oval.
The Swalec Cup semi-finalists, who finished runners up last season, were already guaranteed third place in the league before the fixture, and finished on a high with a five try showing, crossing through full back Shaun Thomas, centre Geraint Langdon, hooker Rhys Price, back row Andrew Coupe and fly half Neil Burnett, with the latter also adding four conversions and a penalty.
The Zebras, who finish the league in the top half of the table, crossed twice in response through wing Peter Hutchings bagging an interception touchdown, and second row Rhodri Jones. Celyn Ashton slotted both conversions and a penalty.
