Jones brace helps Tigers edge out Seven!

Taibach remain top of Division Three South West after coming out on top 19-18 in a hard fought contest at Seven Sisters.
The Tigers crossed for two tries with Alan Jones bagging both for the visitors, with Micahel McSweeny knocking over three penalties to secure his side’s fifth win.
Seven, who have also been in impressive form so far, fell just short of victory despite Anthony Llewellyn and Mike Smith crossing the whitewash, with Smith also knocking over a conversion and two penalties.
Meanwhile, Vardre recorded their third win with a 35-15 victory over Aberavon Green Stars at the Little Warren.
A sharp Vardre outfit ran in two first half tries, courtesy of scrum-half Liam Garland and flanker Robert Foley. Garland also converted his own try and added a penalty. Aberavon Green Stars were very much in the game, however, and lock Scott Purnell crossed for an unconverted try. Outside half Chris Murphy put over a penalty for an interval score line of 8-15.

In the second half, Vardre extended their lead with two more penalties by Garland before full-back Josh Humphries finished off a slick handling movement to score under the posts, Garland duly adding the two points. Their captain Richard Hill at lock then closed their scoring with the bonus point try.

Aberavon Green Stars’ only score of the second half was a try by prop Ashley Copic, converted by Murphy.

The match between Maesteg Quins and Morriston kicked off late as the original appointed referee was involved in a road accident on the way to the ground.
When the replacement referee arrived, Maesteg Quins had too much for bottom side Morriston, with the Quins running out try bonus 29-12 winners.
Maesteg bagged four tries through Rhodri Roberts, Andrew Healy, Dan Hughes and a penalty try, with Gareth Lewis adding a penalty and three sweetly struck conversions.
Elsewhere, Bryncoch did just enough to see off visitors Mumbles, pipping the Seasiders 23-22 and Ystalyfera defeated Brynamman 16-11.
