Cardiff City Ladies claim Welsh Premier crown

Cardiff City Ladies claimed the inaugural Women's Welsh Premier League title after a 5-2 win over Wrexham Ladies.

The title went down to the wire with City knowing a win would almost certainly give them the crown on the final day of the season, having already amassed a vastly superior goal difference over rivals Cardiff Met.
Danielle Broadhurst and Alicia Davies bagged a brace apiece, while Rachel Rowe was also on target at the Cardiff City Stadium as the team celebrated claiming a league and Cup double.
Cardiff Met did all they could to upset the apple-cart despite an 8-1 win over Llandudno Junction.
Emily Brown and Emily Allen both found the net twice for the students, while Dana Hinton, Jaz Thomas and Steph Turner also scored, but it was not enough to clinch the championship.
In the day's other fixture, Aberystwyth Town were comfortable 4-1 winners over Caernarfon Town.
Cardiff City will represent Wales in next season's UEFA Women's Champions League.
