An EGM of Cardiff RFC ltd shareholders on Wednesday evening
voted to accept him.
He joined London Welsh in 1984 as a player, and has been
involved there for nearly 30 years in various capacities. He is also a
benefactor of Glamorgan County Cricket Club, chair of the Tom Maynard Trust and
a trustee of rugby related charity Touraid, which helps disadvantaged children
overseas through the sport.
Speaking of joining the board he said: “I’m looking forward
to meeting up with the board and am delighted to be involved with Cardiff Blues
and Cardiff RFC.
“This is a personal investment and I’m pleased to be able to
put something back into rugby in my home town.”
His home club is Old Penarthians, and he is a Fellow of the
Institute of Chartered Accountants having qualified with PwC (then Coopers
& Lybrand) in 1984.
