Last year’s finalists Glynneath will bid to go one better in the Swalec Plate this year, when the highflying Division Two West club kick off their campaign at Seven Sisters.
Glynneath, who have only lost once so far this season and received a first round bye, will be keen to put in a big display when they make the short journey to their Dulais Valley neighbours for a place in the third round.
In another intriguing encounter, last year’s Swalec Bowl winners Senghenydd, who are challenging at the top in Division Three East, will be confident of causing an upset when Two East strugglers Rhymney travel to the Welfare Ground.
Kidwelly entertain Pontyberem in a local derby clash, while Ystrad Rhondda will be confident of progressing when the trailblazers take on fellow Two East team Abercynon.
Maesteg Quins runaway Three South West pacemakers welcome Two West leaders Kenfig Hill in an enthralling tie that should be a feast of running rugby. The Llynfi Valley side are no stranger to going far in Cup competitions, reaching the Bowl final last time round and will be hoping another Cup run is on the horizon.
Meanwhile, highflying Nant Conwy take on fellow One North outfit Llangefni and Dunvant, who edged past Gorseinon in the last round, travel to Two West’s Felinfoel.
Elsewhere, Two West’s Builth Wells welcome Two East’s Heol y Cyw and in an all Two East showdown, Rhydyfelin face off with Penallta, with the Pitmen securing a comfortable victory over their hosts already this season.
Finally, in what will surely be a closely fought tie, Aberavon Quins travel to fellow Two West side Skewen.
All second round matches will be played on Saturday 10th December with the prevailing teams one step closer to the silverware and a date at the Millennium Stadium.
