Davey back at Colwyn Bay, as Miley moves in the opposite direction

Colwyn Bay have announced that Lee Davey is back with the club ready for this weekend’s clash with Altrincham, while defender Anthony Miley has gone the other way to re-join his former club Conwy Borough on loan.

A deal has been agreed with Conwy following Tuesday's North Wales Cup game, in which Davey scored against the Seagulls, with Miley going back to Conwy until the end of the season to prepare him for possibly a more prominent role at the Bay next term.

Player-boss Frank Sinclair said: “I was really impressed with Lee on Tuesday night and he gives us another attacking option playing on the left or the right. He knows the club well and is happy to be coming back, and [he] goes straight into the squad against Altrincham.

“Anthony Miley is going the other way until the end of the season because he needs to get some games. He will then come back to us in the summer because I probably won't be playing next season and we can use pre-season to prepare him fully to be involved a lot more often.”

Borough manager Chris Herbert added: “It’s a situation which I think helps both clubs. I’d like to wish Lee the best of luck and hopefully he can help steer them clear of relegation.”

Herbert’s side, currently second in the Huws Gray Alliance, have shipped 13 goals in the last four games, and he will be hoping that Miley can help the club plug that gap as they continue to fight at the top.

“It's great to have Anthony back with us,” Herbert added. “Since he moved to Colwyn Bay it has left a gap at the centre of our defence. But now with him coming back and [fellow new signing] Teddy Whelan ready to come in, it gives us a good solid central pairing.

“With both lads being six foot four inches, it gives us plenty of height, which is something we lacked.”
Speaking about his return to Y Morfa, Miley said: “It's great for me to be coming back to Conwy, I’m desperate to play games.

“I know all the lads here and we all know how each other play. Hopefully, I can help us get to where the gaffer wants us to be.

“I'm really looking forward to Saturdays game [away at second-placed Cefn Druids]. It will be good to be back with the boys.”
