Neath RFC second row Gareth Howells appeared before a British & Irish Cup Disciplinary Panel yesterday evening (Mon 14), charged with making contact with the eye or eye area, contrary to Law 10.4(m), in the British & Irish Cup fixture Bedford Blues v Neath RFC on Saturday, December 15.
Howells received a 16 week ban and is ordered to pay £250 towards hearing costs. He is free to play again on May 6 2013.The Panel comprised Christopher Quinlan QC (Chair), John Trevaskis and Roger Morris (WRU).
