Division One Round Up

Leaders Tondu slipped to only their second loss of the season in One West when they were edged out by Carmarthen Athletic 25-23 at Johnstown.
Athletic ran in three tries through centres Rhys Jones and Viv Jenkins and hooker Gethin Robinson, while fly half Scott Maynard added ten crucial points with the boot.
The Waterwheelers also bagged three tries through Matthew Davies, Steven Bevan and Dan Bishop. Top points scorer Paul Smithson slotted two penalties and a conversion, but as the usually reliable kicker stepped up to take a penalty that would seal victory, the Tondu faithful were left heartbroken when his effort failed to find the mark in the last minute of the game.

Second placed Pwllheli are still eight points adrift of the summit, despite also picking up a bonus point 27-12 victory at Bala.
There was nothing to separate the teams at the break, but Pwllheli turned on the style after the interval as Owain Williams, Chris Studt, Robin Hughes Jones and John Payne all crossed the whitewash.

The North Walians crossed three times through Richard Hopkins, Harry Evans and Rhodri Carlton Jones.
Heol y Cyw were surprise winners at Treorchy as they defeated the Zebras 24-13. Gareth Howells was at the double for the Cockerels with a well-taken brace, while Nicky Beer also touched down for the visitors.
