Pontypridd RFC Player of the Year 2014 - Dan Godfrey

Stalwart back rower Dan Godfrey was rewarded for his considerable efforts over the past season by being nominated as Pontypridd RFC Player of the Year 2014 at the club's annual dinner on Saturday 7th June.

The dynamic no8 put his body on the line time and time again during the course of a difficult campaign, and led by example as a senior member of a squad that achieved ultimate success as league and cup double winners.

Godfrey made 24 appearances in total during the season and scored 4 tries, his contribution as a never-say-die performer in both attack and defence being key to Ponty's drive for honours.

The Most Improved Player of the Year was Jordan Sieniawski who once more showed great commitment and a maturity beyond his young age playing in both the second and back row as required throughout the campaign.

The Coaches' Player of the Year was hard grafting second row Craig Locke who stepped up as a leader on the field as well as a consistent performer in his own abrasive style.

The Axiom Award for Excellence went to dynamic full back Geraint Walsh who had earned rave reviews for his attacking play through the season.

The Pontypridd RFC Annual Dinner, with BBC Scrum V front man Rick O'Shea as guest speaker, proved to be a great success, celebrating another season of major achievement for the club.
