Referee boost for Auction Evening‏

A fund raising Auction Evening for the Gorslas Welfare Association has received a big boost after international rugby referee, Nigel Owens, donated a signed shirt to help raise funds.

“We are delighted the Nigel has supported the event by donating one of his jerseys. All the funds we raise will go towards the community activities in the village organised by the Welfare Association, which include the Carnival and Fair in September as well as the Christmas Light and Fireworks display,” explained Welfare Association chairman, Ellis Davies.
“The Welfare Association also supports the work of Gorslas Community Council which owns and maintains the facilities at the ever popular Gorslas Park.” .
The Auction Evening is being held at Tafarn y Phoenix, Gorslas on Friday, May 9 starting at 7pm.
Admission is by ticket only and there are only a few left for sale.
The tickets cost £10 and include live entertainment and food.
