Black and Ambers give Blues a bruising

Black and Ambers prop Calvin Williams was prominent in the loose all afternoon
KIDWELLY recovered from their loss last week to bag their fifth triumph as they ran in five tries to defeat a solid Loughor side 38-10 at Parc Stephens.
Gareth Rees produced an inspired performance for the Black and Ambers, notching up 18 points through a 75 metre touchdown, five conversions and a penalty, while Calvin Williams and Aaron Warren were also among the try scorers for Kidwelly.
Loughor encountered a strong Kidwelly defence all afternoon
The Blues met a spirited Kidwelly defence that was only breached once when John Thomas barged his way over from a driving lineout.
Pacemakers Tondu made it a magnificent seven on Saturday as they saw off Llangennech 28-12 to preserve their unblemished record.
Kristian Jenkins bagged a brace, while Hywel Davies and Matthew Phillips also crossed to seal Tondu’s sixth bonus-point win of the campaign and seventh victory overall.
Llangennech trailed 14-0 at the break and although they did well to stage something of a fightback after the interval, Mark Jones and Dan Jacobs’ tries were too little, too late in the end.
Cwmllynfell, who have only tasted defeat once this season, recorded a 41-20 five-try win over Carmarthen Athletic to stay six points behind leaders Tondu.
Gareth Drewson was Cwm’s hat-trick hero, with Daniel Jones and Johnny Williams also going over. Peter Thomas earned his stripes with 16 points through five conversions and a brace of penalties. Luke Marshall scored Athletic’s two tries in reply.
Marc Fitzgerald, Matthew Davies and Tom Briggs crashed over for Kenfig Hill as they picked up a fifth success of the season in a 25-13 win at home over Glynneath. Grant Bignall and Keir Burrows crossed for their opponents.
Waunarlwydd’s Lee Evans was celebrating a try treble, as well as 26 points in all, during his side’s 46-18 demolition of lowly Aberavon Quins, for whom Joe Gallivant landed six penalties. The winning team’s other tries came through Steffan Jones (2), Sion Evans and Luke Dickerson.
A dozen points from the boot of Rhydian Morris helped Ammanford to a 35-16 victory over Skewen, with Chris Moore bagging a brace of tries, and Gary Stevens and Dafydd Pritchard also touching down to seal a bonus point win.
